Principal
Dan Anderson

This is Dan Anderson's third year as the principal at Good Shepherd. He was born and raised in Corralitos, CA, and is an alumni of Aptos High School. After graduating from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Arts in English, he traveled to Namibia (in Southern Africa) where he taught eleventh and twelfth grade math and English at an Anglican school. He volunteered this year of his life to not only help educate these children but to experience the world outside of his native California.

After returning from his year in Africa, Mr. Anderson worked for Princess Tours in Alaska where he met his wife, Hana. They moved back to the Santa Cruz area and were married in 2000. Mr. Anderson worked for SCORE! Educational Centers in Cupertino and for Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, eventually deciding to go back into teaching as a special educator. He received his credential from San Jose State and later, his administrative credential through the School Leadership Series. Mr. Anderson taught at CT English Middle School on Summit Road as a Resource Specialist and then at Soquel High School as a Special Day Class teacher.

Coincidentally, as a parishioner at Resurrection, Mr. Anderson heard about the job opening at Good Shepherd in 2008. As a former student of Good Shepherd and an active member of Resurrection Parish, the principal position was a perfect fit. Good Shepherd has been a wonderful community of families, educating children through faith, discipline, and compassion. In addition to spending the majority of his time at the school, Mr. Anderson enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, Aidan and Evelyn. He plays basketball, loves to run, and has a taste for ethnic foods around town. He lives with his family in Corralitos, only three miles from where he grew up.

In Christ,
Dan Anderson
