Teaching
is my passion, and I love
being in the classroom with
the students. I have worked in
education since 1998, and this
is my fourth year as a
classroom teacher. I feel
grateful to be at Good
Shepherd because it is a place
where I am able to grow as a
teacher. In addition to 8th
grade homeroom, I am also
teaching middle school math,
6th-8th grade technology, a
leadership elective, as well
as 5th-8th grade PE. Though
this will mean a busy year for
me, I know I will enjoy the
challenge.
I
attended Cabrillo College and
then went on to San Jose State
where I earned a BA in Child
and Adolescent Development. I
attended Bethany University
where I earned a Masters in
Teaching as well as a
California State Multiple
Subject Credential. My major
at San Jose State allowed me
to spend a lot of time
studying how children grow and
develop. This has proven to be
an incredible benefit in the
classroom and has strongly
supported my philosophy of
teaching. I believe that every
student has the right to
learn, and I realize that
every student learns in his or
her own way.
As
much as I love teaching, my
first priority is my family. I
was born and raised in Santa
Cruz and have been married for
15 years. My husband and I
have one son who turned 8 in
November. They are the first
joys of my life!
I
feel extremely fortunate to be
at Good Shepherd Catholic
School, a school that is a
real community. I feel
supported as a professional by
my principal, my fellow
teachers and staff, and by all
of the students and their
families.
