I
am thrilled to be the Homeroom
teacher for 6th grade, along
with teaching middle school
Language Arts and Literature
at Good Shepherd since the
2006-07 school year.
My
family was welcomed into the
Good Shepherd family in 1988
when Greg, our eldest, entered
Kindergarten and Elizabeth our
youngest, was born. All four
of our children have attended
Good Shepherd. Greg and Peter,
the older two, graduated from
Palma High School in Salinas.
Greg graduated from Loyola
Marymount University in Los
Angeles and now works in the
film industry. Peter graduated
from the University of
California, Irvine, and is
employed in the Irvine area.
Stephen, our third son, was in
St. Francis CCC High
School’s first four-year
class. He is attending
Cabrillo College and plans to
transfer next year. Elizabeth
also graduated from St.
Francis CCC High School and is
finishing her second year at
Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo.
When
my children began leaving for
college my time became less
committed and teaching middle
school at Good Shepherd
appeared at an opportune time!
Literature and Language Arts
have always been my first
love. It has been so exciting
to watch the sixth-graders
grow into eighth-graders and
see their writing, reading and
social skills develop. I have
been trained in the Step Up to
Writing process and attended
workshops, including those
taught by Kate Kinsella. In
addition, my professional
experience as an Internal
Auditor for the University of
California, Santa Cruz,
included extensive writing. I
graduated from Cal State
University, Chico, with a BA
in Business Administration.
I
have been involved at St.
Joseph’s Catholic Community,
Good Shepherd, Palma and St.
Francis. I have been a PAC
member, a room parent,
secretary for St. Francis
Association, member of Palma
Parents Club, and member of
St. Joseph’s Commission of
Ministries. I also help with
St Joseph’s Religious
Education Program
