“Hello
new friends and old!” I am
happily married and the mother
of Collin, who is almost 3
years old. My family returned
to Santa Cruz shortly after
the birth of my son because we
wanted to be close to our
extended family, which is
extremely important to both my
husband and I. Being at Good
Shepherd Catholic School is
like coming home since I was
student at Good Shepherd.
Many of my closest friends and
beliefs and values are a
result of my time spent here.
Today I teach at Good Shepherd
while my son is a student in
the preschool; many of
Collin’s cousins are here
too. As we meet people, build
relationships and grow
together, Good Shepherd
Catholic School has proven to
be a family of families for
me!
I
love working at Good Shepherd
because it is a place where I
am trusted to be a
professional and share my
experiences with children. I
am allowed to laugh, explore,
ask questions and get to know
kids as their whole selves. I
have many different
credentials and a Masters in
Education, but more
importantly, I am in a place
where relationships matter and
children are encouraged to
have fun while working hard. I
don’t have to shy away from
difficult conversations
because there are rules that
don’t allow me to talk about
certain subjects. I have
parents who support my work in
the classroom and ask good
questions when I make
decisions about curriculum.
Each day is new and
challenging because I am
encouraged to learn and grow
right alongside my students.
Learning is a journey and
students, parents, staff and
administrators take it
together!
When
I’m not “living” at Good
Shepherd you will find me
racing bicycles (road,
mountain or cross), hanging
out and laughing with my
family, playing soccer or
perfecting my pizza palate. I
just finished my first
marathon (hooray)! I am
addicted to Net Flix and
quoting movies. Thanks for
hearing about me!
