Dear
fifth-grade parents and
students, welcome to a new and
exciting year that will
include a variety of field
trips, science fair, state
reports and more! This will be
a year of growing for your
favorite fifth-grade student
as he/she becomes more
self-reliant, keeping track of
his/her assignments and
activities with a personal day
planner.
I
look forward to teaching Fifth
Grade Religion, Math, Science,
Language Arts and Literature.
Spanish will be taught twice
per week by Senora Carol
Sisney. Students will continue
to have Computers, Library,
Music and Art once per week.
PE is taught by Mrs. Michelle
Miller three times per week.
Fifth-graders are invited to
participate in GSCS's after
school sports program too!
Some,
but not all of you, know me so
please let me introduce
myself. My family was welcomed
into the Good Shepherd family
in 1988 when Greg, our oldest,
entered kindergarten. All four
of our children have attended
Good Shepherd. Greg and Peter,
the older two, graduated from
Palma High School in Salinas.
Greg graduated from Loyola
Marymount University in Los
Angeles and now works in the
film industry. Peter graduated
from University of California,
Irvine, and works in the
banking industry. Stephen, our
third son, was in St. Francis
CCC High School's first
four-year graduating class and
is attending CSU Monterey Bay.
Elizabeth also graduated from
St. Francis CCC High School
and will be graduating from
Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo in
December.
I
grew up in the Central Valley
and moved to Santa Cruz after
graduating from CSU Chico with
a Bachelors of Science Degree
in Business Administration.
After my children were born, I
enjoyed being a full-time mom.
When all of my children were
attending Good Shepherd, I
began to substitute and
eventually teach fulltime. I
earned my teaching credential
and Masters of Science Degree
in Instructional Technology
through CSU Monterey Bay. I
have loved teaching at Good
Shepherd! Please feel free to
contact me at any time through
my email: cgabrio@gsschool.org
or 476-4000 extension 25.
Welcome
to Fifth Grade, it is going to
be a wonderful and exciting
year! I am thrilled to be
spending the year with you.
Thank you, Cathie Gabrio
